about

Jeff Kennedy Associates is an interdisciplinary firm specializing in the planning and design of innovative learning environments for science-technology centers, history museums and historic sites, children’s museums, corporate visitor centers and other informal education venues. Founded by principal Jeff Kennedy in 1983, we have developed a highly collaborative, team-based approach to projects, working closely with our clients to help them realize their institutional missions and their educational and operational goals.

Our firm is one of the few in the nation with depth of experience and expertise in both themed immersion environments and interactive exhibits that engage visitors in hands-on, bodies-on, senses-on learning. Jeff Kennedy’s User Friendly: Hands-On Exhibits That Work, written through a grant from the Institute for Museum & Library Services and published by the Association of Science-Technology Centers, has become a standard reference tool in the fields of interactive and universal design. Our work can be seen in settings as varied as the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum and outdoors at the Lawrence Hall of Science on the University of California, Berkeley campus. In each case, we have created experiences that bring people together, connecting them with ideas, and with each other.
